About The Author

A former 10 year Law Enforcement Officer, who was assigned to the Department’s Traffic Division for 6 years. While assigned to the traffic division, he attended several traffic related classes and became a certified expert in those areas. One of his expert certifications includes the use and understanding of law enforcement radar. During his tenure in the traffic division, he issued thousands of radar enforced traffic citations and while testifying in court for those speeding tickets, he only lost 1 case.

It became quite apparent early on in his traffic career; citizens receiving radar speeding tickets had no knowledge or understanding of how radar is used or how it works. In most jurisdictions, infraction traffic violators are not allowed to be represented in court by an attorney and since most motorists have no prior court experience, they don’t know the rules of the court or what to expect. (There are three types of law violations: Infractions – the least serious, Misdemeanors – crimes punishable in jail for less than one year, and felonies – crimes punishable in prison).

This book was written to help motorists get a better understanding of the traffic court process, know what to expect when entering the courtroom, anticipate the ticket issuing officer’s testimony, and most importantly; KNOW WHAT TO ASK THE OFFICER during cross examination!
